How It Works

Four simple steps

1

Upload your video

Drop a file or paste a link. MP4, MOV, and WebM up to 60 minutes and 500 MB.

2

Pick what to remove

Start with a preset or pick individual categories in Advanced. Defaults are safe — you decide what counts as unwanted.

3

AI scans the full video

Gemini watches every second and flags everything that matches the categories you picked.

4

Review & download

See every cut on a visual timeline. Filter by category, adjust edges, split, or restore. Download the clean version.

Why Use Magic Trim

Two kinds of detection in one pass

Signal-based cuts (silence, static screens, dead air, long pauses) plus content-based cuts (audience Q&A, intros, tech fumbles, breaks). Eleven categories across one analysis.

Safe defaults, full control

Conservative presets out of the box, or open Advanced to pick the exact mix of categories you want flagged. AI only cuts what you tell it to look for.

Every cut is reviewable

See each suggested cut on a visual timeline. Filter by category, adjust edges, split, or restore — nothing ships without your approval.

What the AI Detects

Eleven categories across stale content and unwanted segments — pick the ones that matter for your video

Silence

Quiet stretches longer than 2 seconds with no speech or meaningful audio.

Dead air

Blank screens, countdown timers, or filler moments at the start or end of the video.

Long pauses

Awkward gaps over 3 seconds where the presenter is thinking or searching for words.

Static screens

Frozen frames, loading screens, idle desktops that linger for more than a few seconds.

Repeated content

Duplicate actions or re-dos of the same step that you don't need twice.

No voiceover

Stretches with no narration in videos meant to have a voice track.

Audience questions

Attendees asking questions and the Q&A tangent that follows — kept out of the main flow.

Off-topic

Digressions, personal anecdotes, and unrelated asides that slow the video down.

Tech issues

"Can you hear me?", screen-share mishaps, mute fumbles, and reconnect moments.

Intros & housekeeping

Welcome messages, "waiting for more attendees," agenda recaps, and sign-off logistics.

Breaks

"Let's take a 5-minute break" and the idle time before content resumes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Eleven categories across two groups. **Stale content**: silence (>2s), long pauses (>3s), static screens, dead air, and repeated content. **Content to remove**: no voiceover, audience questions, off-topic tangents, tech issues, intros & housekeeping, and breaks. You choose which categories apply to your video.

Pick a preset or open **Advanced** to toggle categories individually. The **Default** preset is a safe baseline that removes dead air, long pauses, static screens, and repeated content. Other presets add categories like silence, Q&A, or tech fumbles for specific recording styles. **Custom** lets you mix and match any of the eleven categories.

Any video with footage worth tightening — tutorials, screen recordings, lectures, course content, recorded sessions, product demos, internal videos. The signal-based categories (silence, dead air, pauses) work on anything. The content-based categories (intros, Q&A, tech fumbles, breaks) are most useful for longer recordings where those segments actually appear.

Magic Trim is conservative — it only flags segments it's highly confident about, and applies a stricter threshold to content-based cuts since those are more subjective. Every cut is reviewable and reversible on the timeline before processing.

Yes. After analysis you get a full visual timeline editor. You can filter cuts by category (toggle "Audience Questions" on and off to compare), adjust exact cut points, split blocks, or restore any segment. Nothing is processed until you hit Run.

60 minutes. That's plenty for most webinars, training sessions, and screen recordings. If your video is longer, trim it into parts first.

MP4, MOV, and WebM files up to 500 MB and 60 minutes.

Short videos analyze in 30–60 seconds. Long videos (45–60 min) may take 3–5 minutes since the AI reads the full footage. The actual trim processing after that is usually under 30 seconds.

Yes. Screen recordings often have idle moments, loading screens, and long pauses — exactly what the signal-based categories catch. For narrated tutorials you can also enable tech-fumble detection to cut "can you see my screen?" moments.

Yes. Upload your video, pick a preset, let AI analyze, review the cuts, and download the result. No account required.

No. Your output video is clean — no watermarks, logos, or branding.
